Our Story

A man with a beard, wearing a black long-sleeve shirt and light blue jeans, standing outdoors next to a white van with the side door open, smiling at the camera, with a grassy field and cloudy sky in the background.

Cozy Road Campers is a family-owned business run by husband-and-wife team, Joel and Melissa, based in Pakenham, VIC, Australia.

With over 15 years of hands-on experience, Joel brings a wealth of knowledge, passion, and qualifications in RV manufacturing. Paired with Melissa’s eye for detail, creativity, and interior design flair, we combined our skills to create Cozy Road Campers — a business built on craftsmanship, comfort, and a love for adventure.

Joel’s Story

“My love for travel began at a young age, exploring Australia with my father in a 4x4 and a simple tent setup. Rain, hail, or shine, we’d build fires, splash in creeks, and make the most of every moment outdoors. Those trips weren’t just holidays — they were life-shaping experiences that gave me a taste of adventure and the freedom of the open road.

Those memories are what led me to the van building industry. After spending 13 years building caravans, I followed my dream and created my own off-road luxury caravan from scratch. It had everything our family needed to live off-grid and travel as long as we wanted, turning our adventures into lasting memories.

Today, that same passion drives Cozy Road Campers. We believe everyone deserves the chance to explore this beautiful country in comfort and style. Whether you’re chasing weekend getaways or planning full-time off-grid living, we’ll work with you to design and build a van that makes your dream adventure a reality.”

Melissa’s Story

“For as long as I can remember, camping has been a part of my life. As a child, we had a trailer permanently packed with all our gear, ready to head out in any weather — sunshine, rain, or even floods. My sister, brother, and I would pile into the backseat with mountains of clothes and bedding, just enough space left to peek out the windows as we set off to explore.

We pitched tents, built open fires, and felt the freedom of exploring our world. We carried cameras everywhere, capturing the beauty around us. Sometimes, we even dug trenches to keep the water from flooding our tent — but those challenges became part of the adventure. They became memories. And this is how memories are made.

Now, with our own two children, Levi and Addison, we treasure every chance to pass on that same spirit of adventure. Today, our caravan is our gateway — complete with modern comforts that make life on the road easier, more comfortable, and limitless. We can live off-grid for as long as we choose, photographing every moment, and creating the kind of memories our children will carry forever.”
